Del Mar Fairgrounds

Every June, the Del Mar Fairgrounds transforms into the San Diego County Fair to the delight of locals and visitors alike. Everyone is sure to find something to love at the fair be it carnival rides, food stands (think deep fried everything), a petting zoo, games, and the most grand July 4 fireworks display in the county. Once the fair packs up and heads out, Del Mar’s horse racing season begins.

From the spectacle of fashionable hats on opening day, to the thrill of the million dollar race during the Pacific Classic, Del Mar’s racing season is as iconic as the fairgrounds themselves. The summer activities at the fairgrounds don’t stop as the summer comes to a close. Get spooky in October as it transforms into The Scream Zone just in time for Halloween, followed by the twinkle of a magnificent display of lights in December for the Holiday of Lights.
